Lebanon, Accordion Player
Samah Boulmona is a self-taught accordion player and percussionist hailing from Aley. Performing on both a standard chromatic accordion and custom microtonal accordion, which allows him access to a wide range of scales, Samah has mastered a number of world genres from Arabic chaabi to world folk to avant garde music. As an educator, Samah has led workshops with a number of non profit organizations including Al Jana, which teaches Palestinian youth and Action For Hope, which engages with Syrian refugee communities. Samah currently produces Metrophone, a monthly music series at Metro al Madina in Beirut which focuses on curating vintage Lebanese music from the 1920’s and 1930’s.
